Stenciling Question And Answer
How can I remove stenciling from a tile back splash?
I have a white tile backsplash throughout my kitchen and the previous owners stenciled/painted fruit in various parts. I'd love to remove the stencils and still keep the tile. What's the best method?

The best suggestion I have is paint thinner, and lots of elbow grease.
paint thinner is a good idea. goo-be-gone might work as well. buy a cheap paint scraper from walmart and if used really carefully would scrape off the paint without marring the glaze on the tile.
A razor scraper. Make sure the razor blade is nice and sharp so it won't scratch your tiles. There is a product called "Goof Off" which removes dried paint. You could dab a bit of that on the areas you wanted to remove before you started scraping. It's smelly stuff tho.
